To provide an opportunity for those ages 7 – 17 who come from single parent households to train in martial arts and be paired with a parent figure mentor to help lead to positive life changes and networking opportunities beyond what their local neighborhoods can provide to them.
Provide mentoring beyond martial arts training to build young mentees to become leaders themselves and shape positive citizenship through martial arts training and meaningful interactions between mentors and mentees to help fill some of the void of what sometimes is missing from a single parent household.
Our Pledge for Inclusive Demographic
Our mentees include every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, socio-economic status and religion. In fact, part of our goal is to bring in mentees from all walks of life and backgrounds so they can befriend one another through our program as this opportunity may not necessarily be available in their everyday life and community but these youth mentees could grow in our program together based on the common bond of having come from a single-parent home. Of course, if a mentee is economically disadvantaged, we would work towards covering their fees associated with the program so they don’t have to worry about receiving fair access to our program.
In the future, I am hoping to expand this program to other martial arts schools and programs all across the nation and possibly beyond. Please help me with this brand new non-profit org by contributing what you can as we are not asking for much to get this very positive mentoring program jump started. Thank you very much for hearing my story and possibly helping out!
