Mental Health Support for Shawna

Shawna and I have been married for nearly nine years; we have three very intelligent and compassionate children - ages 12, 8, and 7. We have made several amazing memories together as a couple such as a week-long Civil Air Patrol "vacation" to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where we graduated from Region Staff College, and a recent escape to Macinac Island. It is comforting and reassuring to hear people tell us how good for each other we are, especially from those who know the long road we have travelled together.
In 2015, Shawna was diagnosed with Bipolar II Rapid Cycling, though she has been struggling with similar symptoms since high school. The cost of medications, counseling, therapy, and hospitalization have been substantial over the years, but the grace of God has always carried us through the emotional and financial struggles. Since then, Shawna has made great strides to further stabilize the effects of Bipolar so she can continue to enjoy her hobbies and help others.
However, this past July, Shawna voluntarily admitted herself into Pine Rest, a local mental health network, with the goal of seeking further stabilization and new coping skills. She was discharged six days later after successfully completing their "mental health camp," an apt name which Shawna uses to describe Pine Rest's 7-Day inpatient program. She is now taking a new medication and a higher dose which has helped her reach that goal.
My employer's health insurance provides a substantial discount for Shawna's medication and even her hospitalization; however, there is still a significant out of pocket balance of $2,538.33, due on 06 September 2017. We are grateful for any amount you are willing and able to give.
