Mental Health Struggles-Not a Secret!
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Kristin. This is my oldest daughter Elaine. Elaine has historically struggled to maintain a positive level of mental health, but has been in a wonderful place the last several years. She has almost finished her bachelor's program and was gainfully employed in a work-from-home technology job. She has been living with me and helping with expenses, and together we have been managing life and overcoming obstacles and challenges. As an autistic, diabetic, and transgender adult, Elaine is part of a very vulnerable population of humans, and I am so very proud of all she has accomplished.
Recently, her mental health has declined dramatically. She was hospitalized in September, and spent part of October in an inpatient unit before being discharged into a Partial Hospitalization program. Upon stepping down to Intensive Outpatient, it was determined she was in an unsafe place, and she is now hospitalized again. We are enrolling Elaine in a temporary residential program in Tennessee, where we all hope she gets the help she needs to feel like her best self again. Elaine is not working or in school at this time. The initial admission and travel costs to start the Tennessee program are a drop in the bucket compared to what our insurance is covering. We are so privileged and so grateful to have access to quality medical care. It wasn't this easy to find a quality potential placement in her teenage years. However, I am parenting two young ladies alone and Elaine has been unemployed for several months. I started this Go Fund Me to help me cover the cost of her admission and travel to Tennessee. We would so appreciate any help that anyone can provide. Thank you for your considering.
