Thank you for visiting our Humanity Center4Change Youth Mental Health Training Agency! Our goal is to provide Youth Mental Health First Aid training for families who has a loved one that is challenged with Mental Illness. Currently 31.9% of youth between the ages of 13-18 suffer with anxiety disorders, 19.1% behavior disorders, 14.3% mood disorders and 11.4% from substance use disorders. In the African American culture, the rate is an alarming 200% in suicide alone! These percentages are staggering! Many of our youth are diagnosed with dual diagnosis, comorbity, and co-occurrences. The prevelance of mental disorders in children and youth (to the point at which their life is significantly impacted is also estimated to be approximately 20 percent during a given year. HumanityCenter4Change now has the opportunity to provide extensive Youth Mental Health First Aid Training in order to teach our participants how to identify signs of Mental Illness in our younger population. Our desire is to equip families, teachers, youth leaders, law enforcement and community leaders how to be more effective in a young person's life who could be at risk. Upon completion of an 8 hour national curriculum, you would be a first aid responder, having the ability to assist with a youth at risk on any given day. Too often the perception is handling youth by force for discipline, but we believe that through educating the masses, we could begin the process of reducing the improper handling of youth at risk situations. Through the youth Mental Health First Aid Training, the participants would be learning how to defuse situations caused by youth behaviors of mental illnesses, therefore minimizing jail, and possibly loss of life. We are looking for sponsors to cover the training cost for mothers, fathers and family members who desire to take these training courses.
