Mental health awareness bike ride

Donation protected
As many of you are aware, myself and 25 other bike riders have partnered with Pukaup  to ride 1,500km in 8 days from Sydney to Melbourne in March 2018 to raise funds for suicide prevention.

The key motivation is to take definitive action to address the circa 3,000 suicides that occur annually in Australia.

This ride will take a lot of preparation
on my part with most days of the ride being approximately 200kms. And will involve quite a bit of training over the coming weeks.

I will be sure to keep everyone updated on how this is coming along throughout.

Mental health conditions have the potential to impact anyone of us and we believe talking about this important issue is a life changing opportunity.  It is staggering how many people have been impacted by suicide, either directly or indirectly, and the painful legacy this leaves.

With a vision of creating the environment for every person to have authentic and genuine conversations about mental health and emotional wellbeing,  Puka Up is a new social enterprise founded by one of Australia’s leading mental health advocates, Wayne Schwass.  Having battled silently with his own mental health for much of his sporting career, Wayne is now a dedicated mental health advocate, committed to raising awareness about mental health, emotional wellbeing and suicide prevention.

To assist this vital cause, my ambition is to raise $2,500 and you can show your support by sponsoring me on the ride.
