Menstrual Hygiene in Kenya

I will be traveling to Iten, Kenya in February 2018 to join the RubyintheRift.com project educating young teen girls about menstruation and general feminine biology, anatomy, and especially hygiene. My colleague Alyssa O'Conner is working with the non-profit Cross World Africa on a 3 month campaign that brings 200 menstrual cups and accessories to young ladies at 2 different Iten schools. Currently there are a number of factors negatively affecting the situation: hygiene products are so expensive girls turn to prostitution to pay for them, lack of access to menstrual products cause girls to miss up to 25% of their schooling leading to a staggering increase in drop-outs, and unhygienic substitutions such as mattress stuffing, old newspapers, and even animal dung lead to debilitating consequences.
I plan to bring all my former teaching practices and passions to bear as I work on this important project. I am asking for $3500 to cover travel, lodging, and food during my volunteer work. Any money raised above this amount will go towards the project itself. This means a lot to me and will for the girls too so thanks for any help you can give.
