I am Reverend Bob Coulson, a Certified Senior Advisor®, Pet Chaplain®, and a military veteran. Online, I listen to people’s pet love and loss stories, at no cost to them. They often want to pay for my free services (Retirement Coach - Pet and Animal Chaplain (petloveandloss.com) but I refer them to donating instead. In tribute to my beloved pet’s passing and continuing bonds (my shadow dog), I am creating Pixie’s Fund for people to donate to. These funds are for seniors and veterans living on a low fixed income who want to adopt a homeless pet. The funds will become sponsorships that eliminate the senior and military discounted shelter adoption fees at a local animal shelter. Monthly, Pixie’s Fund donations will pass directly to an animal shelter for these sponsorships. I have set the fund-raising goal as a healing heart or soul goal for those who want to donate to help seniors, veterans, and homeless pets find each other to mend their hearts to grow new love, for life. You can also donate directly to them. Pixie's Story...I gifted Pixie on a Valentine's Day for my spouse. It is true that I was picked by her, although I thought she was picked by me. She helped me cope with life-threatening cancer and treatments twice. On a Valentine's Day, 16 years later she passed in my arms, on my chest, near my heart. She was a mighty good girl. She taught me about the healing impact of unconditional love, presence, and sacrifice. In her passing, I learned that even a broken heart serves a purpose - to let new love in and to pass love on. She taught me how to sit in the pit and listen to pet love and loss stories as a pet chaplain. This is my shadow dog, Pixie...we both thank you for helping seniors, veterans, and pets.
