Hello Friends and Family,
As you know, Hurricane Harvey has devastated the Texas coast. My parents, Mark and Marcia Menard, have become unfortunate victims in this disastrous tragedy. Here are some photos of the damage to their home of 27 years. The house has taken on 5+ feet of water and they have lost all of their possessions. Everyone is safe, but the damage is extensive. The water may remain the in the house for several more weeks due to bayou flooding. They will be displaced from their home for 6+ months, which is optimistic.
Many friends and family have reached out to lend support in some way, which we greatly appreciate. Right now with my parent’s uncertain future, the best way to support for the short-term would be to donate anything you can to this GoFundMe page. The donations will help them get back on their feet (clothes, food, temporary living) for the difficult months to come. We are aware that there are many others in similar or worse situations, but we only ask to support if you are able.
We are also coordinating a demolition and clean up day in the near future and will need people to help out with the work. If you are interested in helping out in that way, please email [email redacted] (Cole) or [email redacted] (Matt). We do not have the date yet due to the remaining water still in the house, but we will keep you updated. We are thinking in a few weeks.
