MEN1 Cancer Fund for Jereme Paterson
Donation protected
I’m not sure how to really start this, so I’m just going to wing it. At the end of 2019, my Dad was diagnosed neuroendocrine cancer. He had a 10 cm tumor removed from his chest cavity back in February, and after some testing was done, we found out he had Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1, which is a rare form of Neuroendocrine cancer, where the MEN1 gene is mutated, making it impossible for my fathers body to prevent tumors from growing, and how the tumors will be a continuous hurdle that my Dad will have to over come for the rest of his life. He now has , a 1.5 cm cyst on his liver, which they will observe, a 3.7 cm cystic lesion tumor on the body of his pancreas, and a .8 cm tumor in the tail of his pancreas, both of which he will have surgery to remove from his pancreas . They will also remove his spleen. His surgery is on the 28th of August. They will go to NYC on the 26th because my Dad has to have a covid 19 test 48 hrs before his surgery. This means a minimum of a 7 day stay in a NJ hotel this time. My parents live in upstate NY and have to travel down to NYC and NJ for his surgeries, biopsies, and follow ups, so between travel, hotel stays, ubers, and food, expenses are pretty high for them and they could definitely use the help. My parents are both Navy Veterans and have given selflessly to so many over the last 30 years. I know they would appreciate it so much to know that everyone, even strangers, are in my dad’s corner supporting him. Every donation counts, and if you can’t donate, sharing it with kind words and encouragement will mean just as much to us. Thank you so much, from my family to everyone, for taking the time to read this, share it, and donate.❤️
