Memory Care for Ken

Ken is an Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War era, although he was lucky enough to be stationed in Germany and had many assignments with NATO.  After his separation from the Army he went into law enforcement where he was a police officer and then a deputy sheriff for over 20 years.  The upshot of those years being a deputy sheriff  is that he dealt with many dead bodies in grizzly situations, acting as coroner,  which took a toll on him as a human being because he was such a caring person.  He was diagnosed with PTSD and eventually retired on a Medical retirement from the County where he worked.  He is now 72 years old and was diagnosed with Dementia (Alzheimer's) four years ago.  The progression of the disease is cruelly rapid, it has progressed as it does and it has now become necessary for him to be placed in a Memory Care facility.  The expense of such a facility is phenomenal in this day and age and I am trying to gather the funds to get him there.   There is a program through the V.A. called Aid and Attendance which will provide funds to help with the housing in such a facility, however it will pay less than half and the problem is that he has to be placed first, application to the V.A. then takes place, and within 90 days the funds are available.  While the funds will be retroactive it is still necessary to pay 3 months @ $4595/mo. to house him before any of the aid will start.
I am hoping to place him by the first of August and I have the rent for the first month covered but will need $4595 for the second and third month before the V.A. kicks in, so a total of $9190.  Ken is very much in need of 24/7 care now which I cannot provide him and for any financial help I would be eternally grateful.
