Jan Seelinger Memorial Fund

Leaving behind a legacy of love, friendship, and community Jan Seelinger's presence in our lives will be deeply missed always. She lead as an example of strength, beauty, and passion; choosing always to spread her light to others Jan touched the lives of many throughout her life. Her dedication to the service of others will be one of her great legacies, the first of course being the pride and love of her life, her son Derrek.

Jan dedicated her life to advocacy, a champion of the underdog, and a fearless voice in the fight against domestic violence, putting first always the safety of others. Providing a welcoming and safe space to her friends and family, known affectionately as Momma J, the doors to her home were always open to those who needed a place to recharge. She lived as a fierce protector and loving mother figure to many. A best friend and sister to those closest to her, Jan’s circle was as strong as the women within it.
A member of the local Bulldogs Boxing Club, a fitness competitor in her 50s, and an avid motorcycle enthusiasts, Jan followed her passions and interests all the way through and straight from her heart.  

A unique gift for Jan’s son has been hearing the amazing stories of moments Jan has stood tall, all 5 feet of her, in the support of others, always fearless, never intimidated, her memory will live on in the lessons and great wisdom she bestowed upon others. We encourage you to continue to share you favourite memories with him. 

As Jan was tragically lost in a motorcycle accident in June, we have created a Go Fund Me to offset unexpected expenses for her sole survivor to carry her “Casa” and create a Celebration of Life worthy of Jan Seelinger’s memory.  

 

Any amount collected above and beyond what is needed for unexpected expenses and costs for Derrek will be donated to an organization near and dear to Jan’s heart in her memory.
