Wilma Jo Tate Yancy, born on Saturday, October 23, 1948 in Jonesboro, AR.,earned her eternal wings and ascended home to be with the Lord, her mother, and her father on Friday, December 11, 2020.
Wilma Jo was the eldest child of Albert Tate, Jr. and Thelma Jean Tate. She lived in Jonesboro throughout her of life but she also lived in Chicago, IL, Liberia, Africa, Hot Springs, AR , and, suburbs of Atlanta, GA.
She was the first Black student to receive a diploma during a graduation ceremony at Jonesboro High School in 1966.

Her life touched us all and she will live on through the times we all shared with her and together.
