Murphy Family Memorial & Education Fund

On 22nd August, 2022 we lost our friend and colleague, Detective Sergeant Shannon Murphy. Shannon, throughout his career touched many of our lives as a work mate and personal friend and was well known as a chap with a wonderful sense of humour and happy personality. His smile, laughter and kindness always shone through. He was a terrific cop, well known for the way he went about his work – authentic and always seeing the good in people.

Shannon’s wife, Sarah and two children, Maisie and Mitch are very much a part of our Blue family. Socially and through the kids sport they are strongly connected.

Our colleagues and friends have asked us how they can help, so we have set up this Go Fund Me page as an opportunity to donate to an education fund for Maisie and Mitch.

The Go Fund Me platform asks for an aspirational fund raising target. We did a rough estimate of school expenses for the kids and worked out that approximately 100k is required until the end of secondary school. The target is aspirational and we simply ask that you consider any donation as a show of support for Sarah, Mitch and Maisie.

Finally, a last note - Shannon had been away from work for a while. During that time he has been strongly supported by his work mates and friends. He spoke openly about his challenges and we know that he would encourage you all to look after yourself and look out for each other.
