Memorial Fund for Nicholas Piazza

Donation protected
On Thursday, April 30, 2020, Nicholas Piazza (age 30) lost his battle with addiction and went home to be with the Lord.  This is honestly the hardest thing I've ever had to write.  Never does a mother anticipate having to do this.

My son was a drug addict.  But that's not all he was.  He was a funny, loving, and caring human being that would have given the shirt off of his back to help anyone in need.  His many friends and family members knew that side of him and loved him unconditionally.  Unfortunately, once the addiction took hold, it wasn't letting go until it took my son away from so many people who loved him.

Nick's greatest achievement was his son Maddon.  Maddon just turned 3 years old and his eyes would light up whenever his daddy was there.

This was the last photo taken of the 3 of us together.  It was taken this past Christmas at a parade we went to.  Maddon had the time of his life that day opening presents and helping Nick set up all of his new toys. They were inseparable.  And this was how that wonderful night ended.

I pray that Maddon will remember times like this that he spent with his father and remember them fondly.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise as much money as possible to go toward the care, upbringing, and educational expenses of his son, Maddon.  All funds collected will go into an account dedicated solely to Maddon's expenses.

Nick's funeral will take place this Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Miller's Funeral Home in West Dundee, IL.  Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, only 10 immediate family members will be allowed to attend the service.  We will, however, be hosting a Celebration of Life event in Nick's honor later on this summer when social distancing restrictions are lifted.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.  And please keep Nick's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
