On Thursday December 21st we lost a wonderful man. Kevin Philippi was a godly man who loved his family and baseball. He devoted his life to his wife April and three kids James , Samuel, and Katie. There was hardly a time when you would see Kevin without his best friend and wife April. Kevin was always with his family.
His oldest son James , 23, is currently serving in the United States Navy and stationed in Washington. Kevin loved his country and was very proud of his son for serving so honorably.
11 year old Samuel is a very talented baseball player . He played for BPBL, Brentwood Blast, and most recently L4 baseball. Kevin was a staple at the games , always supporting Sam and the rest of the boys. We will miss his voice as the kids were hit by a pitch yelling, "Way to wear it kid!!"
9 year old Katie was truly Daddy's little girl. He loved watching her play softball and the way she was so uplifting and always tried to lead others in a positive way. You could always see the softest side of Kevin while he was with Katie. She was definitely the apple of his eye.
Kevin was a devoted Christian. He made sure his family had a strong foundation of faith and surrounded them with good people. Kevin was part of the Golden Hills Community Church where his kids also attended school.
We are all saddened by Kevin's sudden and unexpected passing and so are asking our community to come together and help this wonderful family in their time of need. This time of year is about giving and being thankful for what we all have. Let's come together and help with the cost of the holidays and the final arrangements for Kevin. I hope we are also able to help give them some financial security. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Philippi family!
