After a brief but aggressive battle with liver disease, our beloved, Kenny Yee, unfortunately passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
Kenny was born on December 2, 1975 in San Francisco. A true SF native, Kenny grew up in the Chinatown/North Beach area, and attended Marina Middle School, Galileo High School, and City College. He finished off his education at UC Santa Cruz majoring in Political Science. Kenny's worked at many places including Pier 39, Wells Fargo, Dreyers, Little Star Preschool, and he even dabbled in real estate/loans for a bit. But as many of you know, Kenny has always had a thirst for knowledge, passion for reading, learning, and most of all, teaching. About 10 years ago, Kenny finally chose to pursue his calling and became a teacher for SFUSD. Teaching was his greatest accomplishment, though it wasn't always easy and his sacrifices were great. But in the end, it was all worth it to him to be able to work with children of all ages and prepare them for the future ahead of them.
Kenny will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor, fun-loving personality, generosity, kindness and his big heart. Most importantly, he'll be remembered for the meaningful impact he's had on the lives of countless children, his friends and family and the many people of the community whose lives he has touched.
