Memorial Fund for Jacob Philp

Donation protected
Jacob Philp, my boyfriend, was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on January 10, 2018 on a highway in the DFW area. This has been surreal and I still cannot wrap my head around what has happened. The emotions are slowly setting in, as is the reality of what is to come. I know this is going to be a difficult and arduous journey that no one should have to face. In particular, his parents and family.  I cannot imagine the turmoil they must face to have to bury their youngest son at the age of 22. Together, we are trying to figure out how to move forward while at the same time having to plan funeral arrangements for someone that still had so much to offer this world.

Jacob was a very caring, sweet, compassionate and selfless individual. He was a counselor for a Catholic camp where he made a positive impact on several children.  I have read the comments from their parents about how much "Weave" inspired, motivated, and cared for them. He was electric. He doesn't make "acquaintences", he makes bonds.  Everyone was his best friend and he always put his friends and family above himself. It warms my heart that he was beloved by so many. He loves his family so much so that Dallas was too far to move from Keller because he wouldn't be able to see them as often.

We had high hopes for our future together. We both graduate from our respective colleges in a few months. We were planning to move in together; we were discussing marriage and children.  We had a future planned, only to be taken away so suddenly. It will be difficult to find a way to move forward, but with the help of my friends, family and his family, we will do so together.

I am on here to help raise money for his family for a memorial fund to help cover any current or future costs that may arise. Obviously, this is not something that was at all anticipated or saved for.  In this tragedy, I am hoping to help ease the burden by contributing to the funeral costs.  I'm not sure what the financial burden is going to be, but I feel that any little bit will help ease that aspect of this tragedy.   I want to thank everyone in advance for your thoughts, prayers, contributions and love.   It is all much needed during this time.

Thank you,
