It is with heartfelt sorrow to share that Azael Cervera Medina born on August 21, 2016 has recently joined the angels in heaven after losing his 13 month battle to cancer.
He passed from this world on Wednesday April, 3rd 2019
Azael was first diagnosed at 18 months old with stage 4 Neuroblastoma in March 2018 in El Paso, Texas, where he recieved 3 cycles of high dose chemotherapy and an 11 hour surgery in June.
The family then made the move to Denver, to seek treatment at Children's hospital of Colorado where he endured countless radiations, bone marrow transplants, endless nights in the ICU and more chemotherapy. Scans performed in February determined that the cancer had come back and even more aggressively. One last round and unsuccessful chemo-immunotherapy was administered in March, it was then that doctors informed the family that there was nothing more that could be done to save his life as the cancer kept growing and that he only had 2 weeks to live.
On March 16th they traveled back to their home town of El Paso, Texas to be back with they're family, where they were set up with Hospice care until his passing.
No one ever expects to need funeral expenses for a child, but it happens. We are asking family, friends, and community to rally together behind the family by donating to this fund. No donation is too small.

Azael fue diagnosticado a los 18 meses por primera vez en Marzo 2018 con Neuroblastoma en estadio 4 Recibió 3 ciclos de quimioterapia y una cirugía que duro 11 horas.
La familia se mudo a Denver donde estuvo bajo el cuidado de Children's Hospital of Colorado. Fue ahi que recibió transplante de medula, 21 seciones de radiación, paso muchas noches en terapia intensiva, y mas quimioterepia. Exploraciones realizadas determinaron que el cancer había vuelto con mas agresividad. Un ultimo tratamiento de quimioimuno terapia fue administrado en Marzo. Fue cuando los doctores les informaron que ya no había mas que hacer, que el cancer seguía avanzando y que solo tenia 2 semanas de vida.
El 16 e Marzo regresaron a su ciudad natal de El Paso, Texas para estar con familia. Ahi recibieron assistencia de Hospice hasta su fallecimiento.
Nadie espera tener que pagar los gastos del funeral de un niño, pero sucede. Les estamos pidiendo a la familia, amigos, y comunidad que se unan detrás de la familia mediante una donación a este fondo. Ninguna donación es demasiado pequeña
