Memorial For Steve Verba

Thank you for visiting this page. Our goal is to honor Steve through a memorial at Hospice of the Western Reserve. We are collecting donations in lieu of flowers. Any overflow or excess donations will go directly towards funeral costs.
As some of you may know, Hospice of the Western Reserve was an important part of Steve’s life. His wife, Betty, has worked there for 13 years and both Steve’s father and mother in law passed away at Hospice House.
Steve M. Verba, age 69, of Kirtland, passed away February 15, 2020. He was born in Cleveland on September 29, 1950, to the late Stephen and Isabel Verba (nee Krivonis).
He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. An avid stargazer and astronomer, Steve will always be known as our Starman.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Betty Verba (nee Kern), Jason (Danielle) Verba, Alane Echon, Rosemary (Vincenzo) Verba Mauer and Lillian Verba, grandchildren Zooey, Zac, MacKenzie, Christian and Michael, siblings Robert (Jeannie) Verba, Maryann (Bill) Mehring and Dave (Marian) Verba and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael Echon.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:30am at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd, Kirtland. Burial to follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 4-8pm at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be collecting donations via GoFundMe which will go towards a brick memorial at Hospice of the Western Reserve.
