Memorial for Ryan “Bugs” Jackson

Donation protected

Ryan Jackson was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, coworker, and friend.

In the early hours of August 5th, 2018 in New Mexico, after a laughter-filled night of four wheeling (or “boondocking”, as Ryan called it) with his family, a horrible accident occurred, causing his four wheeler to wreck, throwing him from the vehicle in the process. Ryan sustained many injuries, most internal, but continued joking and talking to his son and niece until he passed away.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Becky, an amazingly strong woman and dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant. He also has three children, Marissa and her husband Josh, Travis, and Logan and his wife Faith, as well as one grandchild (his 14 month old pride and joy), Ayden.

Ryan was a popular man in his town of Hico, Texas, and it was known for miles how great of a man he was, and that everyone loves him. He was an exterminator, but his business did not bring him a livelihood as much as it brought him a wide group of friends and loved ones. His customers regularly came over to barbecues, called to check in on him as a friend, and gave him lots of baked goods.

In addition to Ryan’s exterminator business, his main passion was cooking. He and Becky travelled all over Texas and various parts of the U.S. to compete in cook-off competitions. Ryan created many unique and delicious dishes with help from his partner and love, Becky, such as bacon-wrapped strawberries, fried green beans, individual ‘shots’ of green chile stew, rattle “snacks” (marinated rattle snake bites) and lots and lots of brisket and pulled pork.

This memorial fund in Ryan’s name is not only for the expenses regarding transferring him to Texas and his funeral,  but also to help Becky with this tragic transition she has to endure. Losing her husband is the worst thing she could imagine, and it being so sudden, the loss of her partner will hinder her ability to take care of their family, home, and animals (especially his pigs, if you knew Ryan, you knew his love for his pigs.).

Please give whatever your heart inclines you to, anything will help.

Tonia Harris, Ryan’s little sister, will be ending the generous campaign for funds donated & use this money to pay her credit card that paid for his funeral.

Again, thank you all from the Jackson family!
