Jorge had an amazing spirit and contagious smile. Not only was Jorge a nursing professional who was passionate about advancing the profession, providing the best care, and serving as an outstanding role model...he also knew how to touch and transform people's lives with his smile and positivity.
In 2017, Jorge was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer and the diagnosis was heartbreaking. Through it all Jorge had a resilient spirit and chose to maximize the rest of his time here on Earth by enjoying every moment and helping others learn from his story. He presented at the last NAHN conference in Cleveland, Ohio, where he shared his story with others with the hope that if he could spare the life of even one person then he did his job.
On the evening of Oct 12, 2018, Jorge's spirit left his body to rest in peace after his battle with cancer. We are asking our NAHN familia and friends to please consider making a donation to help fund Jorge's Memorial & Funeral expenses. Arrangement details soon to follow.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the fund. Jorge’s best friend of 16 years and power of attorney for health care, Gerardo A. Jones, will use the funds raised to pay for the memorial costs.
We hope you will join us to celebrate the life & legacy of our Hermann, friend, colleague, and loved one—Jorge Luis Escobar Prada on Saturday, Nov 17th. The mass and blessing of ashes is 11-12:30, and the lunch immediately follows 12:30-3p.
