Memorial for John "JT" Troyan
John M. Troyan III, better known as “JT,” passed away at the age of 48 on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. While trying his best to fight the good fight against cancer, it ultimately took his body—but it will never take his soul. While this is quite the struggle for us left here on Earth, we know he is free from the fight and is with his father and the rest of his family that went before him.
JT was an exceptional husband, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and golfer—he absolutely always had the best words that you wanted (or needed) to hear at the moment. JT’s gift to all that knew him was his pure unbridled optimism. For this made him the guy you wanted to be around, that guy that made you feel good.
Who didn’t love his many posts on social media of the sun breaking through the trees while on the green first thing in the morning? Golf was JT’s ultimate pastime. For the camaraderie, for the exercise, for the joy of the swing. A longtime member, JT enjoyed countless rounds at Highland Park Golf Course. Golf made him happy—golf was his thing.
To honor his love for golf and to remember him, we would like to purchase memorial benches at Highland Park Golf Course in Auburn, NY. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. And, if you’re ever in the area, we hope you’ll visit the course and have a seat on one of JT’s benches—there’s not a doubt in our mind that he’ll have a special word or two just for you.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and for celebrating JT’s life in a way that will make you smile, for that’s all he ever wanted.
