Memorial for Alex Reed

Alex Reed passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, as a result of a hiking accident while scouting a place to climb in Smith Rock State Park. Alex is the son of Scott and Gwen Reed; Gwen is the former English Dept Chair at Lake City High School. In addition to his parents, Alex leaves behind his little sister, Leana.
Alex graduated from LCHS in 2016 and was actively involved in the Outdoor Studies Program. He was an avid rock climber and could frequently be seen working at the Kroc's climbing wall where he shared his passion with those wanting to learn the sport. After graduation, he chased his dreams by moving to Bend, Oregon where he worked at a climbing gym and kept himself busy building new climbing routes and exploring all that the Bend area has to offer a climber.
The Reed Family has requested donations to fund scholarships for young men at their family's favorite adventure camp in New Hampshire. Funds collected will hopefully fund two scholarships in Alex's name.
