Memorial Bench for Jim Stone

Donation protected
Jim Stone was a pillar of the community of Tottenham, Ontario since the 1950's.  He assumed responsibility for the family business when his father Lionel passed away.  Stone Motors served the community for a total of 65 years.

At 20 years of age he became Fire Chief of Tottenham.  He held that position for 42 years.  His contributions to this town far exceeded his duties as chief and council member.

In this tribute I want to honour what Jim (Dad) was truly about and that was giving of himself to others.  He sincerely wanted the best for people in their happiness and well being.  We believe that his true giving nature was displayed by the one simple act he did daily, feeding the birds.  No matter what the weather, he doled out seeds over several feeders along the rail trail south of Tottenham.

It is at one of these feeders that we wish to place a memorial rest spot to honour Jim Stone.  It would be a bench made of stone with a plaque affixed, a place to rest, remember, enjoy nature and spread your own seeds to feed the birds.

Hello, my name is John Stone, Jim's youngest son.  I can't imagine life without dad.  He was an extraordinary man.  It would mean so much to our family to memorialize his giving nature on the trail which was so dear to his heart.  I will oversee the funds and contract the placement of the rest stop as early as possible.  Permission for the location of choice is currently under request with the town.  If funds are exceeded, a donation will be redirected to the Salvation Army, a charity close to Jim's heart.

Thank-you for considering a donation to this cause.
