Memorial and Funds for Family of Ryan Bannon

Donation protected
On  the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 2, EOD3 Ryan Bannon was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on his way home from work in San Diego. In addition to grieving the loss of a great EOD tech, the community mourns a amazing friend and exceptional example of integrity and character.

In the coming weeks, Ryan's wife Kayla, close family and friends will be organizing a memorial event in his hometown of Temecula, CA. We'd like to garner support from the EOD community, friends and family for these events, and provide financial support to Kayla.

All proceeds will go directly to Kayla Bannon, who has spent the past 13 years by Ryan's side - first as a high school sweetheart and then as a devoted spouse.

Ryan first enlisted in the Navy in 2012 and  served as a Personnel Specialist aboard the USS Anchorage. After time in the fleet, Ryan graduated EOD school in 2018 and was stationed at EODMU11 in Imperial Beach, CA, where he quickly excelled.  Ryan pursued every qualification he could, maintained a high level of fitness, and easily distinguished himself as the person leadership could count on to complete any job that was asked of him.

Among his peers, Ryan was known for his humor, his exercise regimen (which he was often harassed about by his platoon mates), and his unstoppable work ethic.
