Melvin Portue Liberty HS Art Scholarship

As most of you already know, my father, Mel Portue, has recently passed. In his honor, our family is creating an art scholarship that will be awarded to aspiring artists each year at Liberty high school.

Dad was always painting or drawing something. There have been many pieces of his artwork on display in our homes and even at Brentwood City Hall. His talent and passion for art was such a big part of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching his granddaughter, Maggie, how to paint. Memories she will always cherish. There was always a current project he was working on in the garage.

My dad was such a kindhearted and generous person who brought joy into all of our lives. In his loving memory, this scholarship will continue to bring some of that joy.
