Meltabarger Family House Fire Fund

Donation protected
My sister and her family lost their home due to a house fire early on the morning of 12/31.  We are asking for donations to help the family with immediate necessities.  This is a family of 7 that includes, 4 adults, 3 children as well as 2 small dogs.

They have been placed in a hotel in Irving at this time.

Update:

Words cannot express how grateful we are to everyone who has donated money, necessities, and prayers thus far.   I would like to take a moment to tell you about my wonderful sister Melinda.

Melinda and Dave were team truck drivers until Dave's diabetes progressed and he was no longer able to see well enough to drive.  With Dave no longer being able to work, Melinda had to take a position driving a bus for Denton County.   Dave has to go to dialysis several times a week.  He has been in the hospital numerous times and the medical bills are insurmountable.  Melinda works tirelessly to make sure Dave is taken care of while working to provide and keeping up their health insurance premiums.

Melinda was diagnosed with diabetes last year and also has suffered from high blood pressure.   In 2014 she was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. She recently underwent surgery to remove the cancer from her kidney.  Fortunately they were able to get it all.  But this left her with even more medical bills to pay.

In 1998 our Mother passed away and in 2012 our father joined her in heaven.  Our mother inherited a house from her father.  When our father passed away, Melinda inhereted this house.  It is a humble home., nothing fantastic.  With all of the struggles and medical bills this was such a blessing.   And it meant the world to Melinda because of the family history.

On December 30th Melinda came down with the stomache flu.  I am sure all she wanted to do was go to bed and rest.  But she first made sure that her family had black eyed peas to eat for their New Year Tradition.   In the early morning hours she heard someone yell FIRE.   Then she had to stand outside and watch the only thing she has burn.

Melinda's daughter Jamie and her family have been living with them for the last few months.  Fortunately, they were there to help Dave get out of the house.  Thank GOD that all 7 of them escaped without injury.

A truly selfless person, she forgives and loves deeper than anyone I have ever met. She is always the first person to help out when someone is in need. It's time to Help Melinda and her family. Please give whatever you can.
