As a Son, Brother, Uncle, Husband, Father, Bishop, Coach, Flight Attendant, Security Guard, Neighbor, and Friend...Mel Fuchigami has lived a life full of service and ALOHA!
He was a Brother to his 6 siblings, to those he worked with and those he attended church with. He served and loved with all his heart. Where he saw a need he tried his best to fill that need.
His home was always open to anyone who needed a meal or a place to rest. He, his wife, and family has hosted family, friends, and traveling sports teams.
In his youth he loved to play every sport available to him. In his adult life he became Coach Mel. He has coached church ball as well as High School and Junior High School girls' volleyball in Hawaii and in Arizona. He loved the life lessons that he could teach through coaching youth so much so that he was the owner and head coach for Imua Volleyball Club, Arizona.
He was an awesome father to his 4 children who like to reminisce on how he not only nurtured and cared for them, but did so for the youth he served in church and coached as well. So much love for Unko Mel.
In his late years Mel suffered from diabetes, kidney failure, and heart disease causing many trips to the ER. The financial stress of the numerous healthcare needs and the cost of his funeral services is the purpose of this GoFundMe account. We are trying to raise these funds within the next week to alleviate as much of this financial burden as possible. This money will go to his dear wife and love of his life, Linda.
