Hot Wheels for Melody!
Many of you have had the privilege of meeting the amazing Melody Perkins. She is mother to Jamie, grandma-ma to Riley, the biggest Steelers & Tigers fan anyone could ever meet, a retired electrical technician and an inspiration to all. Unfortunately Multiple Sclerosis has taken away Melody's mobility and she is dependent on an electric scooter to move about the nursing home where she lives. Her current scooter is out of commission and repair costs will be close to the same as a purchasing a new one. We are raising funds to purchase a new scooter so that Melody can enjoy the limited mobility it provides.
"I have often felt that I let my son Jamie down because I wasn't comfortable in public places until he introduced me to Phish. With him, I went places and met people I'd never dreamt of. Because of the Live Phish app I'm surviving this nursing home. I attend a different show every day. Some of the residents and staff dance and snap fingers to the music. It's good to see smiles in an otherwise dreary place." - Melody Perkins (2017)
At the young age of 62 it is devastating to see a brilliant woman like Melody confined to a nursing home. It is our hope that some of our family and friends will find it in their heart and their budget to contribute a small amount and help get Ma Perkins rolling again. Your support is greatly needed and appreciated beyond words. Please know we would not be reaching out if it were not necessarry and we will be eternally grateful for any and all help no matter how small.
