Adaptive bike for Melody

On May 27th we will celebrate Melody’s 7th birthday! We are raising money to help purchase Melody a new adaptive bike for her birthday.

Melody began using an adaptive bike at the age of three during her 30-minute weekly physical therapy sessions. The adaptive bike quickly became Melody’s favorite part of therapy as she always requests to ride the bike. The adaptive bike provides lower extremity strengthening and reciprocal leg motion patterning along with increasing Melody’s confidence. As of a month ago, Melody is now able to pedal 30ft without assistance. Melody receiving an adaptive bike to use at home will empower her to live a more fulfilling life that progress towards her independence. The bike will give her an opportunity to ride at the park, play with her cousins, and break barriers her physical limitations do not currently allow. This bike will allow her to be a KID!

These past two years we have tried to receive funding through insurance and government programs for an adaptive bike and have been denied at every request.
