This fundraiser was created to assist Melanie Pniewski in her battle against Meningioma. Melanie is a part-time nurse practitioner and a full time mother to four. She has made a career of taking care of others and is quick on her feet to help friends and family in need. On July 3rd, Melanie was diagnosed with a brain tumor called Meningioma, which forms on the three layers of the brain's membranes. It is commonly known as the "best kind" of brain tumor, only because they are mostly benign, but they have the ability to return after removal. If the tumor can't be 100% removed due to nerve entanglement, location, etc. then it may call for radiation.
If you know Mel Mel, she is not one to throw a pity party for herself and has remained in good spirit throughout all of this, but of course her biggest concern is for her 4 sweet kiddos- Caden (age 9), Cooper and Emma Claire (almost 5), and Livi (age 2). Her goal is to keep their life as normal as possible, while overcoming this journey of her own. With these donations, we hope to keep the financial burden to a minimum as she seeks treatment. Melanie will be traveling to John Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. for her surgery on September 11th. She will need to stay in the area for at least 2 weeks as part of her post operation care. This surgery will put her out of work for at least 8 weeks. Any amount of donations, prayers, or support during this time of need are greatly appreciated.
