The Mellowhood Foundation is a grassroots community organization in southwest Madison offering opportunities for kids in the Meadowood neighborhood to learn, work and play.
Mellowhood founded and operates the PAID (Preparing Assets for Integration without Dependency) program, which offers a stipend for middle school kids who work to maintain community gardens around the city throughout the summer. PAID participants also participate in a book club that meets weekly.
We are raising $5,000 in June to add four kids to the PAID team this summer.
The photo you see here is of Mellowhood kids on the job site last summer. They are curious, energetic, positive kids. They need to see more of Madison and, maybe more importantly, Madison needs to see more of them.
We have two premiums to offer:
A donation of $100 or more will get you a Mellowhood Foundation t-shirt.
A donation of $500 or more will get you a half-day visit with Mellowhood founder Coach Assad and the PAID staff or a visit from Coach Assad with your organization, group or family to explore issues of youth empowerment.
If your 'hood is good, it's a Mellowhood!
