Melkam moves to Ethiopia!

On January 19th, I will be taking a leap of faith and moving to Ethiopia for approximately four months!
Born and raised there, I have not had the opportunity to return since moving to the U.S. when I was just seven years old. Now, as a recent graduate and emerging public health professional, I have been given the incredible opportunity to support a project that works to increase tuberculosis detection in women and children across East Africa located at Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa. This opportunity to gain hands-on experience will equip me with the skills to later contribute to improving health across the African continent.
I will be pursuing a masters in public health starting fall 2020 and I am excited for the ways in which this opportunity will inform my studies.
Unfortunately, the opportunity is unpaid and I am asking for your support to assist me with the costs associated with this once in a lifetime experience. No amount is too small and I want to thank you in advance for investing in me and my dreams.

Roundtrip Airfare: $1400
Four-month living expenses: $1600
