Melissa's Dental Surgery Fund

My mom, Melissa, has spent her whole life taking care of others, often at the expense of her own health and wellbeing. At 65, she has no thoughts of retiring as she continues working to make ends meet, but she needs your help.
After losing two bridges, she saw a dentist a few months ago about getting dental implants to replace the missing teeth and enable her to eat normally again. Having lost the original teeth years ago, the bone in her jaw had deteriorated to such an extent that it needed to be strengthened before they could implant new teeth.
They began the process in June with a painful and expensive bone graft, paid for through a combination of insurance and credit cards.  The procedure left her face swollen and bruised for weeks, forcing her to take unpaid leave from work and exist on a near liquid diet until the graft healed. The surgeon scheduled her for an implant procedure in December, as the regenerated bone will gradually deteriorate if no teeth are put in.
Now, however, my mom's insurance will only cover $300 of the more than $10,000 surgery, a procedure that needs to be completed within a year of the original graft in order to be successful.
We're hoping to raise $10,000 to cover the cost of the dental implants, surgery, and post-op treatments.  If we can raise half of that before her surgery appointment on December 11, she can have the procedure done as scheduled with a high probability of success.
