Melissa & Gage Lee Support Fund

Last night at about 9:00 pm, our dear friend Melissa Lee was having a normal night in her home making dinner for Gage. Gage was watching tv in the living room but also talking back and forth with Melissa in the kitchen. At some point, Melissa stopped answering back. Gage found his mother unresponsive on the kitchen floor.

Melissa was rushed from Huntsville to Memorial City Memorial Herman Medical Tower in Houston where she still is. We have learned that Melissa suffered a stroke caused by a serious blood clot in her brain.

The prognosis is still unclear. Who knows how long the after-effects could last? What they'll be. What treatments she'll need. What they'll cost.

Melissa and Gage need casseroles and love right now. They also need people to come sit with them for long periods of time and help with menial, often unpleasant tasks. They need cheerleaders when the times are darkest. They need us. Their people.

Melissa also needs to make the house note. And the car note. And pay utitlities. And deductibles. And copays. And travel for treatments. And for $50 boxes of Kleenex in the ICU that her insurance won't cover. And for clothes, groceries and baseball cleats for a growing boy who has too much to worry about. 

Melissa's situation could not be more urgent. We need to prepare for her while she is unable. Thanks everyone.
