Melissa King's Family Home

Hi. 

My name is Kristin and I'd like to tell you about a friend of mine. Her name is Melissa King and she is wonderful. She is happy and bubbly and brings light into every room she enters. I had the privilege of working with her a few years ago. She and her family live in Santa Rosa. Unfortunately, her parent's house was completely destroyed in the Tubbs Fire, along with all of their belongings. Their pets are missing. Their life has been turned completely upside down.  

This is a devastating loss to Melissa and her family. Melissa described it best with "The only house I've ever known and the neighborhood I grew up in. In ashes. This is horrible. My parents worked so hard to make this place a home for us. So many memories. My heart aches for my parents. But I am so glad they are safe." While they are safe, they have no home to go back to. No changes of clothing. No toiletries. No plan for how they are going to recover from this.

If you can spare even a little, it would go a long way in helping them rebuild their lives. I'd like to raise enough money for them to be able to rent an apartment or home, to buy supplies and necessities so they can get back on their feet. Given the prices of the rental market in the Bay Area, this is a lofty goal, but it will be transformative for them to have a place to stay and the necessities they need.

All money collected here will be donated directly to the King Family.
