Melisa Su’esu’e- testing and treatment for Lyme

Hi everyone. I never thought I would create a go fund me for myself. I have a very supportive family that helps me and I have been generally healthy and active. Since the end of August, I have been home, unable to work, and very sick. I have gone through a lot of testing with my doctor and recently have seen two specialists. Everything comes back fine, and the only diagnosis they can find looks like chronic fatigue syndrome. I know that something more is wrong, and I have had so many friends reach out to me and tell me my illness looks like Lyme disease. After researching a lot about it, talking to people that have it, and reading other peoples stories, I feel like that is what I have. Regular doctors don’t really support or treat for Lyme disease, other than an initial prescription for Doxycyclene for a couple of weeks. If you have chronic Lyme that has been in your system for a while, that does not help you. Everyone that I have personally talked to that has it, and people online and in the groups that I’ve joined, says that a Lyme Disease specialist called a LLMD (Lyme-literate Dr.) is the one that can diagnose and treat you. This treatment is not covered by insurance, and typically costs thousands of dollars. Treatment can last for months or years depending on how long you’ve had it and how much damage it has done to your body. Lyme disease is called the great imitator because it imitates many diseases and a lot of people are misdiagnosed and continue to get worse for years. I just spoke with someone yesterday and she and her husband both have Lyme disease. It took them over $500,000 and several years to go through treatments and finally feel normal again. I’m hoping that’s not the case for me, and would like to see a LLMD asap to begin testing and treatment. After two friends suggested starting a go fund me, here I am.
