Melinda and Cody Need Your Help

Dear friends, animal lovers, and kind-hearted strangers,

We need your help to give Cody, an 8-year-old rescue dog, the care he desperately needs. On February 4th, 2025, Cody tore his ACL (CCL injury), a painful condition that causes severe lameness and swelling. He now requires further testing, medication, and possibly surgery to relieve his pain and restore his mobility.

Cody has already overcome so much in his life. He was saved from a kill shelter, where he was close to being euthanized. When he was rescued in 2018 and arrived on a LifeFlight transport with Paws for Life, he was terrified of people. It took months before he could even trust enough to walk on a leash. But with love and patience, he found his forever home with Melinda, who gave him the safety and care he had never known.

Now, life has thrown another challenge their way. In October 2023, Melinda was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. While undergoing aggressive treatments, she has been unable to work. She is the kind of person who never asks for help, always putting others before herself. But right now, she and Cody need the support of their community.

Melinda says that through all of her struggles, Cody has saved her—giving her strength in her darkest moments. Now, Cody needs our help. The cost of testing, medication, and potential surgery is overwhelming, and with mounting medical expenses, Melinda simply can’t afford it.
