Melany Estela is 19 years old. She plans on graduating from Valencia College with an Associates degree this summer. After this, she will attend her first semester at UCF. She is pursuing a career in Psychiatry. She wants to be a Psychiatrist for children and adolescents.
I am writing this letter today with great hope for her future. Towards the beginning of 2017, a large nodule was found on the right side of her thyroid. After an entire year of doctors visits and tests, it was decided that the best option would be to remove half of the thyroid. On January 17, 2018, she had a partial thyroidectomy. After the pathologist ran some tests, she was found to have Follicular carcinoma. In an effort to contain the cancer, she had to undergo a total thyroidectomy on February 7, 2018.
Doctors have informed her that she requires treatment. The expenses of this treatment is beyond her families reach, I appeal for concession from your part in the medical expenses.
