Melanie Anderson's Medical Fund

My beautiful step mom was diagnosed this past fall with stage 4 melanoma cancer. She had a softball-sized tumor under her arm removed the week before Christmas. This involved multiple hospital stays both before and after. The doctors later discovered that the surgery did not get all the cancer. Meanwhile, she has been suffering from internal bleeding due to the surgery in December.  Over the last few weeks the cancer has spread through her body, and unfortunately has resulted in her taking a turn for the worse. This weekend the doctors just told our family there was no further treatment available for her. She was then placed on hospice today, and we aren’t sure how much time we have left with her. The doctors are not hopeful for much more than a few weeks.

Because of this, she has been unable to work sense September of last year. Many of her medical expenses are not covered by her insurance. In addition to everyday necessities of life, money is getting tighter and tighter.  My father has been working non-stop through out this ordeal trying to cover the difference. When he is not at work he has spent every waking moment taking care of her both at home and the hospital. Melanie is the love of his life. They are true world soul mates.

She is cheerful, loving, and an unbelievably strong individual. Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to Melanie.  Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated.  Everything we can do to help and surround her and my dad with love is what is most important so they can enjoy their last days together in peace.  Please spread the word.
