Dearest Friends and Family,
We are all aware of Hurricane Harvey’s destruction and it's unfortunate impact on so many of those we know and care about. In particular, our sister, Melanie, and her fiance Jay, experienced significant damage to their home in Wharton, Texas. Unfortunately, most of their personal belongings that couldn't be raised above the flood level were damaged or lost. Over the years, Melanie has always been the keeper of our family mementoes which we have always deeply appreciated. She has obtained and shared numerous photos, family letters and historical documents to maintain a strong family connection to memories and our ancestory. We know these items mean more to her than the material losses but unfotunately there is little we can do to replenish those items. Our hope is that we can help Mel and Jay find comfort in returning to their home and their everyday lives, as quickly as possible, by assisting in their need to restore their home and their primary losses. Without flood insurance, their losses are a heavy burden that we hope to help alleviate. Our gratitude, no matter how minimal the donation, is immense.
