Mel Scott Funeral Fund

On Sunday 30th September 2018, a beautiful mother, the most thoughtful friend and one of the strongest advocates in the Autism Community, Mel Scott, was sadly called home to be at peace.
Mel's story has touched and shocked the community, not only for her loved ones but for complete strangers, as her passing is a tragedy, it should never have happened and that if anyone was subjected to what she was put through, this could have been any one of us.
Mel was brave, courageous and always put other people’s needs before her own. Mel always went out of her way to make people feel cherished and loved and was a great support for many other Autism families.
In honour of Mel’s memory, we are fundraising money to give her the send off she deserves, with the money going immediately to the funeral and memorial costs (preparations have commenced) and supporting her world and who she loved and cherished, her beautiful daughter and support dog Frankie, for their future.
Mel was always supporting others, and it was her final wishes, that in her passing, she can help other children with disabilities and their families, by donating some of the money raised to The Board Meeting Surf Charity, who supported Mel and her daughter throughout the years, from setting up a safe space therapy room in her house to helping to fund therapy.
To say we are heartbroken, is an understatement and we hope that in her passing we can show her just how much she was loved and help prevent this from happening again.
