Because you gotta be able to watch movies, facetime friends and play flappy bird during chemo....
Unfortunately my Ipad is a first generation and I can't do much on it anymore without it crashing. Thanks to it being light and small, it's my "go to" tool at appointments and hospitalizations. This upcoming chemo adventure is going to be hell and I will need distractions/entertainment to try to get my mind off puking and more.
Therefore, as silly as this seems, this is my "Megan needs a new Ipad to keep her sanity during the hell of biochemo" fund.
For those who don't know, Biochemo is a super rough, super toxic drug combination of IL-2, Interferon, DTIC, Cisplatin and Vinblastine. It's given inpatient in the hospital over the time frame of about a week due to the toxic nature and severe complications that can arise. I get to do 4-5 cycles of this adventure and well, it's gonna be hell!
Originally this was set up to be a silly small fundraiser but you all took off with this because, well you're amazing. So since a mini miracle has happen the rest is now being applied to bills, such as an Indianapolis hospital stay that was out of network ($3,032.55), a September PET scan ($450), a lovely expensive November E.R bill ($716), an out of pocket biopsy ($589) and all the other ridiculously hefty miscellaneous bills that slowly pile up, and obviously will keep piling up this 2014 year and cause me to become BFF's with debt collectors. (I can't count that high)
I love you all and I'm incredibly touched by this outpouring of love and support as I face this new "bump in the road" of now adding Stage III ("Advanced") Melanoma to my journey. Your support, in whatever shape or form you give, is what keeps me kicking!
