Megan's Accident

On Monday January 22. 2018 Megan was involved in a car accident in Lincoln. Monday morning Megan had gone to work at the 84th and Holdrege Sonic, where she is the General Manager. At the time of the accident she was traveling to another Sonic location when she was broadsided by a semi. Megan was the only occupant in her vehicle. The gentleman (Adam) seen that the semi was involved in an accident and called 9-1-1. Adam then turned around to return to the accident scene when he seen Megan's car. He ran over to her car, while still on the phone with the 9-1-1 dispatcher, he realized that Megan was not breathing and begin CPR. He continued giving her CPR until the EMS arrived. Megan was then transported to Bryan West Hospital in critical condition. Megan in currently in ICU on the ventilator. Megan had a CT scan done on her brain before undergoing surgery Monday night to relieve the pressure on her brain as well as place a ICP (intracranial pressure) catheter. A repeat CT was done Tuesday morning which showed no change from the initial CT immediately after arriving at Bryan West ER.
At this time Megan remains in a coma. The doctors told Gina (Megan's Mom) that the plan is to remove the ICP catheter on Wednesday as long as the pressures stay below 11. On Friday they plan to perform a tracheotomy and place a feeding tube in her stomach. They will also be moving her around more and possibly up to a chair to help prevent her from getting pneumonia.
Gina has been at the hospital since the accident, Tom (Dad), Courtney, Shaina, Ryan and Grandpa Denny have been there most of the time as well.
This family is in need of Prayers for Megan. Please continue to pray!
