Megan's Fight Against Cancer
Megan is a close friend of mine and mother to three wonderful children, Imogen, Cara and Finn.
In August of 2020, Megan received the devastating news that she had Stage 3, inoperable bile duct cancer, also known as Cholangiocarcinoma. This is a rare and aggressive cancer that has a very poor prognosis and had spread to her liver and her lymph nodes.
The news came as a devastating blow to Megan and all who love her. Soon after, scans showed that the cancer had also spread to her lungs.
Chemotherapy was quickly arranged and Megan responded well to her treatment. During this time, she carried out extensive research and looked into alternative medicines, supplements, healthy eating, exercise, quite simply anything that would keep her alive and well.
After one block of chemotherapy, a positive mind set and all of the above, the main tumour shrank. Also the smaller tumours throughout her liver and lymph nodes were showing encouraging signs of improvement!!! Life was good and Megan was now looking forward to a well earned break from the chemotherapy.
This was however, short lived ... Megan's pain began to increase and a CT scan revealed some new, aggressive tumours in her liver.
Megan has recently started a new targeted therapy treatment that will hopefully improve her quality of life and give her more time with her family but we do now know that we have to tackle this aggressive cancer from all angles.
After a lot of research into alternative treatments and encouraged by many success stories of others who have used these to support their healing, we are keen for Megan to be able to access these additional treatments. Time is not on her side and unfortunately these treatments are very expensive.
I have set up this page in the hope that we can raise enough money to be able to give Megan access to these treatments in a bid to control her cancer, shrink the tumours and work alongside her medical treatment. This will hopefully put her into remission or at least buy her more time with her children.
Anything anyone can give, however small would mean the absolute world to Megan and all who love her.
