Kristina's Double Transplant

Our Friend Kristina has battled a brutal fight against Diabetes, for over 40 years.  She recieved a kindey/pancreas transplant approx 15 years ago (Kidney from one of her best friends) and after a year with the new pancreas, it failed and left Kristina battling the effects of the horrific diabetes, once again. That same disease has taken its toll on the new kidney.  Now she is need, once again, of both a new kidney and pancreas.   That being siad, she and her loving husband, Jeff, are not in the position to pay for what insurance does not cover.  She needs to get to the Mayo clinic in Arizona to start the entire process of getting back on the list and waiting for a match (March 9th.)  Not sure how many of you know all the battles she has endured, but Kristina also lost her right eye due to Diabetic neurpoathy and has a prostetic.  Also, after transplant, she suffered major nerve damage in both legs and had to learn to walk again.  She has been unable to keep full-time work and they battle to simply pay monthly bills and all the medications she requires.

Jeff continues to work full-time, plus picks up odd and ends side jobs, just to make ends meet.

At this time, we are unsure of the total amount Kristina will be charged for the double transplant, but have set the first goal of 2K, as the lengthy process continues, we will be updating.

Funds made here, will go directly to Kristina's medial expenses, dialysis, travel and medications.
