Medieval Festival Fundraiser

The Medieval Festival at New York City’s Fort Tryon Park is the creation of The Washington Heights Inwood Development Corporation. For over 35 years, the Corporation has enlisted the support of a small dedicated and creative group of people to produce this largest cultural event in northern Manhattan. This one-day festival attracts visitors from throughout the region to see that our community is a nice place to visit and a great place to invest, live and conduct business in. The event features jousting knights on horseback, falconers, Medieval-style entertainment, educational events and over 100 performers in period costumes. Admission is free. WHIDC has produced the Festival since 1983. It has grown into the largest scheduled event in all NYC Parks, routinely attracting over 60,000 – 70,000 visitors. The 2022 festival will be held on October 3,2022.

More information about Washington Heights and Inwood Development Corporation: WHIDC was organized in 1978 to serve the residents and businesses in Northern Manhattan. We are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code and a United States Treasury Department Certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Our primary mission is to encourage the development and retention of businesses and jobs in Upper Manhattan and the Western Bronx. A second Primary mission is the development of events and other efforts to spread awareness of the cultural vitality and attractiveness of our communities to businesses, investors and the general public.
