Support Peruvian Healthcare Workers

Donation protected
Dear donor,

Peru is devastated by Covid 19.   The second wave is hitting even harder.  In Arequipa,  a city of 1 million people, there is only one Covid hospital and since two weeks ago, there are no hospitalization beds available at all.  The ICU has been full for over a month.  Patients are dying outside the hospitals.  Rural Covid health centers are taking care of the outpatients  andtheir health care workers don’t have enough personal protection neither the equipment necessary to fight against Covid.

What can we do?
Campaña Médicos Solidarios Arequipa is raising funds to continue  supporting health care workers.  Our commitment is tocontinue to donate PPE (personal protection equipment) and equipment especially to these rural Covid health centers around the city.  We have created a transparent and efficient system that give us the certainty that the donations reach the intended end users.Never our donations go to a warehouse! All donations are delivered by our volunteersand documented in the deeds of donations. Please visit our website www.medicossolidariosarequipa.com

We need your help now!

In Peru, over 5,600 new daily cases and 277 daily  deaths were reported last Saturday. Peopleare suffering with severe symptoms and dyingbefore they can be treated. We know that helping the outskirt and rural health centers can make a difference in the amount of deaths of patients and health care workers.

More than 55,000 people have already died. It is heartbreaking to see desperate families everywhere trying to find an available bed for their sick ones.  People selling  their belongings to be able to buy oxygen and medicines for their sick ones.  Families having to bury their loved ones in mass graves. The hospitals have run out of basic medical supplies, with many patients dying from oxygen shortages.  Let’s help Arequipa!  We can make a difference working together!

What’s the money going to buy?

We will continue to donate Wayrachis (a Peruvian version of a high flow oxygen regulator), EPPs, tents and reflectors, medical equipment, etc.  Many of these health care centers are taking care of patients outdoors with no protection or power.

We plan to donate pulse oximeters and thermometers to these rural Covid centers.  The idea is to lend these oximeters to the patients that test positive for self-monitoring at home, helping to prevent this way the collapse of emergency rooms.

We will keep you up to date on this GoFundMe page and in our website.

We have a motto: ““No importa quién, dónde, cómo y cuánto. Ahora es cuándo”

“No matter who, where , how and how much, now is when”

Thank you!
.
