Maggie is my Jack Russel-Pug that loves her family, having play dates with her boxer-pit cousins Chibby and Dibbles, car rides, playing fetch and meeting kids and puppies at the park. Unfortunately, Maggie’s fun was put on hold when she got into cat food on Jan 12th which sadly caused severe pancreatitis.

Dr. Pedro Moreno at the Evesham Veteranary clinic saved Maggie’s life that weekend when he had her hospitalized for a few days.

Now that Maggie is out of the hospital, she is a new diabetic and with that comes a whole new lifestyle for both of us. I am still nursing her back to health, her blood sugar is still high but it’s going down and she has been much brighter and acting like herself again. As of right now, Maggie needs 14 units of insulin twice a day and she needs to get her blood sugar checked at the clinic every 2 weeks.

My sister, Dr. Dannielle Moreno helped cover half of the initial cost of Maggie’s medicine and hospitalization. Which I honestly could not be more grateful for and I have no idea how I’ll ever repay her. That being said, I’m still having a difficult time keeping up with my other bills in addition to the cost of nursing my fur baby back to health.

Moving forward, setting aside what Dannielle and I have already paid:
One case of needles is $50 and lasts approximately one month.
One vial of vetsulin is $53.59 and last me approximately 2 weeks.
The doctors visit and getting her blood sugar checked is $38 /visit.

Assuming Maggie’s insulin doesn’t increase and her condition doesn’t worsen, this year I will spend : ~$1,393 on vetsulin, ~$600 on needles and ~$988 on blood sugar checks.

I realize I am at fault for not getting her health insurance before something like this happened. I’m just hoping for some financial support to get her through this year.
