Medical Help for Michael

Hi all,

As you may or may not have heard, my brother Michael was recently in a boating accident.

Due to rough weather conditions, Michael was in the water when his arm was cut by a boat propellor, leaving lacerations through the artery, tendons, and nerves on his dominant hand. We did not learn the severity of his condition until after his lengthy surgery in which his surgeon informed us that he almost bled out and that his hand functions may not fully recover due to nerve damage.

Thankfully, Michael was airlifted, making it out of the incident alive. However, because of the extensive care - specifically medivac (being $50,000 alone), emergency surgery, and the resources utilized during his intensive care, the medical bill will be upwards to $100,000.

Medicare and insurance will not cover the majority of the expenses. Michael will not be able to work for a minimum of 6 months, during which he will attend physical therapy rigorously until he regains functions in his hand and fingers. We do not expect to receive a large sum but anything will help to get him back on track - to his normal life.
